I work at a county hospital and have found the importance of an IBCLC providing anticipatory guidance antepartum in L&D to equip parents to advocate for themselves to get pumping started as quickly as possible after birth. Also, equipping nurses in L&D in the importance of getting mothers to begin pumping as quickly as possible after birth.
